Facial massage: who it suits and what to expect

Facial massage is a care ritual that can address the feeling of tension. We explain the experience without promising a permanent “instant lift.”

Who may enjoy the treatment

This format may suit guests who notice habitual tension around the jaw, temples or facial muscles and want a calm care ritual.

The face may look refreshed for a time because of temporary changes in tissue tone and circulation, but massage cannot change anatomy, replace dermatological care or guarantee a lasting lift.

30 or 60 minutes

Thirty minutes is enough for a first introduction. Choose 60 minutes when you want a more unhurried and complete ritual.

  • 30 minutes — focused work with the face, jaw and temples
  • 60 minutes — a slower ritual with added attention to the neck, décolletage or scalp depending on the protocol

When to postpone

Active cold sores, infectious breakouts, broken skin, marked irritation or a flare of a skin condition are reasons to reschedule.

After injectables, lasers, deeper peels, surgery or dental treatment, follow the interval set by your doctor or aesthetic practitioner. A massage therapist should not shorten it independently.

How to prepare

Mention skin sensitivity, allergies, contact lenses and recent procedures. You may remove makeup before arrival, or ask whether cleansing is part of the chosen protocol.

After the session

Avoid vigorous rubbing or introducing aggressive new skincare on the same day. Return to your usual gentle routine and use sun protection according to your dermatologist’s guidance.

FAQ

Common questions

Does facial massage remove wrinkles?

It may temporarily influence the feeling of tone and the appearance of tissues, but it cannot permanently remove wrinkles or replace medical and aesthetic procedures.

Can I have it after botulinum toxin or fillers?

Only after approval from the clinician who performed the procedure. Timing depends on the method, area and your individual condition.

Is it suitable for sensitive skin?

Potentially, with gentle technique, neutral products and a discussion of your skin reactions. An active flare should be allowed to settle first.
